Well, it's been a long ride to get on the right trail heading toward my second book publishing. Right when we were getting set up to hand off the novel script covid hit my first book publishing company and they laid down in the trail faster than a mule with belly worms. Unfortunately, they never weathered the storm and closed never to return. That left me with a search for a decent publisher that I could work with and not hand them the title to the farm.
Publishers come in all shapes and sizes, and the larger they are the more of your royalties they want. I needed the right one to suit my needs for a smaller project. Finally, my daughter found the one we decided on and the process began.
The hardest part of this novel was the cover layout. I went through countless hours and many back-and-forth attempts through various Illustrations to finally get the one I could live with. After you read the book, the cover will make sense. Itchy Wallace is the old crusty prospector on the cover and he is one of the main characters in the book. He is the key character in the main theme of this novel and the story told within the book's pages will unfold in a surprising climactic ending that the reader won't see coming. This novel will take you back in time to a setting that most people living today can hardly realize. These events took place all over the American Southwest. It was a sprawling frontier, and it came to life with the populace of humans as they were navigating back and forth through this time. This novel freezes this window in time and allows the reader to view and contemplate these events from the ease and comfort of their easy chairs. I hope you will treat yourself to this book. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I had an enjoyable journey in compiling it.
